This manual Installing the “I” Back Offense will give you both the ability to use the straight "I", offset "I" and Gun Zone Read to attack defenses with two running backs and three receivers. I use multiple formations and motion to set defensive tendencies and set best blocking scheme for our offensive line. By using multiple formations with either the option or zone read game will assist you to prevent defenses from ganging up on your offense. Both the "I" Back and Gun offenses center around the Tailback running inside, outside zone, and Isolation plays and being the pitchman on option and zone read plays. By adding the option and zone read game makes the defense has to defend both your quarterback and fullback as well as the tailback (this takes most of the focus off the tailback). As you read this manual you will find that I have added all the little particulars up front and then give you the running and passing illustrations. With each diagram and play I have added exactly how you can call the plays whether you use a traditional huddle or a no huddle offensive approach. If you find the wording confusing just adjust it to fit your terminology. The I formation is one of the most common offensive formations in American football. The I formation draws its name from the vertical (as viewed from the opposing endzone) alignment of quarterback, fullback, and running back, particularly when contrasted with the same players' alignments in the T formation. Both the "I" and Gun formations begin with the usual 5 offensive linemen (2 offensive tackles, 2 guards, and a center), the quarterback under center, and two backs in-line behind the quarterback. The base variant adds a tight end to one side of the line and two wide receivers, one at each end of the line.
